Hello to all of you,
Some folks are still surprised to learn that we left Florida in 2005 and moved to Conroe, Texas, about forty miles north of Houston. The Akitas and we are settled in and comfortable in our new doghouse.
We care for about fifteen Akitas on our 9-acre property. We boast nowadays that we run an “old folks home” for our beloved dogs. Taz and Phoenix are 12 years old and still doing well. Rapper, Bradee, Artie, and Takei are all 11, while Spice turned 10, and Goodee hit 9. Six more of our Akitas are in their middle ages: Heiree, Cohiba, CH Shiner, Casino, Spirit and Heiree. Our superstars Kuroi (Chateau's Kuroi Zukin) and Speaker (Chateau’s Speaker of the House) are currently being shown in conformation.
We are no longer actively involved in rescuing Akitas, but we still actively support A.R.S.F. whenever we place an adult. Someone obviously knew we were here because they dumped a young male Akita in our driveway in June of 2007. Although the left eye is blind, he is growing up and filling out nicely. We named him “Black Jack” for having only one good eye and a beautiful black coat. e is now very happy after being placed with a new family who loves him.
We encouage the owners of our grand-puppies to drop us a line or send pictures when the time allows. TYales of mischief, updates on progress, and even the sdaness of passing are greatly appreciated. Likewise, we will gladly share information on your Akita's parents and littermates upon request.
Woofs, Wags, and Best Wishes,
Nancy & Scott Holloway
