We gratefully share our knowledge, experience and our Akitas with those who truly care about the welfare of the breed.  We hope to be the best Akita breeders available.

Starting off the wrong way, buying our first Akita from a pet store, we soon discovered our purchase was the advent of an odyssey of loving, breeding, rescuing and owning Akitas. Now in our 14th year with Akita puppies and adults, we’ve learned a lot, made a few mistakes and always tried to better the breed.

As members of the Akita Club of America, we are Akita breeders who subscribe to the code of ethics and believe we should be mentors to new Akita owners and prospective owners who seek advice. We believe any potential or current Akita owner should feel free to ask questions and have them addressed fully.

Chateau Akitas will always accept responsibility for Akita puppies/adults produced directly by us. It is our intention as Akita breeders, however, to place a dog produced by Chateau Akitas into a home where the dog will live out its life happy, healthy and safe.

We raise our Akita puppies in our home and start crate training shortly after weaning. Because training is so important, those who buy from us are encouraged to go through puppy and adult obedience classes. We will also make every effort to assist in finding appropriate training venues for buyers.  We are Akita breeders dedicated to our clients and our Akitas.
